Nathan is a very passionate, energetic and motivated Exercise Physiologist who strongly believes that “Exercise is Medicine”. Nathan is driven to assist client’s in achieving their health or performance related goals and become the best version of themselves.
Nathan’s passion for helping people was first sparked in his childhood. As he watched his younger sister going in and out of hospital completing daily physiotherapy sessions all in an effort to help manage her Cystic Fibrosis.
In addition to his desire to help others Nathan’s passion for sport were the stimulus that lead him to Deakin University. Here Nathan completed a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science, hoping to pursue a career within the sporting field. During his final year of the course, while contemplating exactly where this degree would lead, he learned about Exercise Physiologists and how their prescription of exercise can have a profound impact. Bringing together his desire to help others and be involved in exercise. Becoming an Exercise Physiologist would enable Nathan to help people with chronic conditions, illness’ and injuries, to manage their condition and improve overall quality of life, just like so many people had helped his sister manage her medical condition.
Nathan is a strong believer in the “Exercise is Medicine” approach and believes that anyone can use exercise to help manage their medical conditions or injuries, improve their overall health and become the best version of themselves. Nathan also believes in prevention being the best form of medicine and is invested in helping individuals not only achieve their health-related goals, but also reduce the risk of any health-related problems in the future.
Nathan is also a highly competitive person and is very passionate about sport, in particular Basketball. He was able to merge his desire to help others with his passion for Basketball when he was in grade 6 by coaching his youngest sisters under 8 Basketball team. From here, he never looked back and is currently coaching an U16 Girls team with the Nunawading Spectres. Nathan aims to use his knowledge in exercise prescription and sports performance to help athletes achieve their performance related goals and to compete at the highest level.
